These units are designed for collar attachment to birds such as parrots or macaws with strong aggressive bills. These units can also be used on small & medium sized mammals who require a stronger transmitter casing than our normal epoxy coating.

Frequency Range: 138 to 235 MHz.

Transmitter: SB-2C: Crystal controlled two-stage design, pulsed by a multivibrator.
SI-2C & AI-2C: Crystal controlled two-stage design, pulsed by a CMOS multivibrator.

Pulse Width & Rate: SB-2C: Pulse width 20-23 ms, pulse rate nominal 0.67 p/s (40 p/m).
SI-2C: Pulse width 22-24 ms, pulse rate nominal 0.7 p/s (42 p/m).
AI-2C: Pulse width 25-30 ms, pulse rate nominal 0.7 p/s (42 p/m).

Note: Since the SB-2C unit uses two batteries in parallel, it must not be stored for more than 2 months prior to use.

Power Output: Set to use available battery power over the required transmitter life.

Housing: The battery and transmitter are hermetically sealed in a brass case.

Antenna: SB-2C & SI-2C: Stranded stainless steel cable, covered with a black nylon coating.
Additional layers of shrinkable tubing reinforce the antenna at its base.
AI-2C: Flat brass strip that also forms the collar. Click here for AI-2C attachment instructions.

Activation: Removing an external magnet starts the transmitter. Replacing it stops the transmitter.

OPTIONS
Temperature (suffix "T"): An increase or decrease in temperature results in a corresponding increase or decrease in pulse rate. At the standard settings, the pulse rate changes from ~15 p/m at 0°C to ~50 p/m at 40°C (SB-2C ~30 p/m at 0°C to ~50 p/m at 40°C). Each transmitter is supplied with a plotted calibration curve. This option adds ~0.05g to the finished weight of each transmitter.
