With the introduction of a new crystal package from our supplier, we are now able to manufacture a transmitter
at a weight of 0.35g! At this weight (which includes battery and antenna), the LB-2N will produce a 12 day lifespan. It can also be configured for a 21 day
lifespan at a weight of 0.42g! Both of these sizes are smaller than our previous 0.47g (12 days) and 0.52g (21 day) LB-2 units.
This unit measures 11.5mm in length by 4.8mm in width by 4mm in thickness.

In the coming months many changes are in store for our website. A complete makeover is underway as well as improved features (navigation, layout, links, etc.) and and many more photographs of our transmitters in action.
On the 17th of August 2001, Holohil Systems will be losing two of our most valued employees. Lisa Lemieux and Meaghan O'Kelly
are leaving our company to return to school.
Lisa (right), who has been with us since 1998, is leaving to pursue a teaching career at McGill University.
Meaghan, who has been with us since 2000, will be attending Queen's University to pursue a career in Engineering.

Holohil Systems Ltd. would like to wish Lisa and Meaghan every success in their academic pursuits.
Holohil Systems is now set up to accept purchases by Visa. This service is available to those customers wishing to pay for their orders in both Canadian and US dollars. Please contact us for additional information on this new service.
During the month of April, we have upgraded our website with the following additions:
* New pictures - Over the winter months, we have received a large number of new photographs of
our transmitters on various species from around the world.
* Instruction pages - Including several pages authored by our customers, we have compiled a number of pages that will assist in the attachment of our radio transmitters to your study animals. Please visit our Links page for a complete listing of these helpful new pages.
* MS Word order form - To make ordering easier, we have created a Microsoft Word version of our order form that can be downloaded. Once completed, it can be sent to us as an e-mail attachment.
* Order Form Help - To assist first time customers with the completion of our order form, we have added a help page to our website.
During the month of June, we have added a number of photographs, of our transmitters
"in action". These photos have been generously supplied to us by our customers
from around the world. To all of you who have contributed pictures, we thank you.
As you look through our photos, you will see that we are far from having a complete collection
of photos. We would like to have shots for each model we currently manufacture. As such,
we ask that any researchers who have pictures (prints, slides or electronic images) of our
units to please send them to us so that we may consider them for use within our site. Any and
all photos used will be posted with appropriate credit to the photographer.

A number of researchers have contacted us recently regarding problems using Hollister Medical
Adhesive. It seems that Hollister has recently changed the formulation of their adhesive in
such a way that the new formula is no longer suitable for long-term attachment of transmitters.
Due to this, we have removed the recommendation of Hollister Medical Adhesive from our

This month brings the launch of the new "Links" page to our website. This page was created to assist customers obtain additional information on wildlife telemetry, organizations, researchers, projects and conferences (past & present). This page was created to assist first time and frequent customers quickly answer some of the usual questions that we receive regarding our products and services. On March 17, 1998, Holohil Systems Ltd. officially entered the world wide web with the completion of the first part of our website. Our recent jump into cyberspace was fueled by an increasing global customer base who's hours are outside of our own 8:00am - 4:30pm EST office hours. It is our hope that customers (new and old) will be able to access this website, to obtain product information, at a time that is most convenient for them.
The SB-2 transmitter is the latest transmitter development from Holohil Systems Ltd. It has been designed to serve as a small implantable unit for use in snakes. This transmitter, though designed primarily for use in snakes, can also be used in circumstances where our standard SI-2T transmitter is too large for use.
